It's all about kitty-kat's!!!

Ok I have to say I was not raised with "cats" never had a cat in my life and for those cat lovers out there you would be appalled the way some "young boys in my family and neighborhood" treated cats. If you told me last year at this time I'd have two young cats and two kittens in my home I would of said you were sniffing glue!!!LOL So we have cats, we are a cat loving family and these two little creatures have become a part of our family, although I hate the hair I'm constantly vacuuming up I don't mind because it puts a smile on my kids faces. They love to hear me talk in the "cat voices" ohhh yes don't you know they have there own voice with the help of "me" of course!!!lol Well our little ko-ko girl had two kittens the other day and you know I think she knew how I would understand her giving birth because as she was giving birth to her 2nd one she was wanting me to pet her and she was purring and looking at me as if to say "can you just pull it out already"LOL.....the kittens look like mama with cute little stripes on the head. Today we almost had a scare because mama decided to hide one of them and we were searching hi and low in this house filled with "stuffez" and could not find the lil'baby. Well I had to get my daughter to her class so we left but within five minutes of leaving my son called my cell phone and said they found the kitten and that koko led them right to the kitten, I look over and my daughter is totally crying, she was very worried something bad had happened, bless her little heart I had to re-assure her the babies were all ok. Sooooo in this house all kittens are accounted for does anyone want a kitten?? there free and I'll get the first shots :)this picture is mama koko sleeping----note this is before having her babies!!!! Man I wish I could sleep like that...LOL

Cancer!!!!

Does that not just take the wind right out of you. Couple of reason for not posting lately the title of this post being one of them. Before I explain I DON'T have cancer but my brother did. I like to say past tense because I know he's going to beat this.

The middle of september my younger sister called me and said my younger brother who is 33 was admitted to the hospital. I am one of eight children there are four boys and four girls, I'm the middle child. She explained they were running test but he wasn't able to keep anything down and started vomiting blood. His wife and my sister have been there thru everything. Can I say HOSPITAL's suck to!!! Long story short my brother had a tumor the size of a softball that the Dr's said had been growing for three years. Note::: my brother goes to the dr's regularly because of his colitis he's had since the age of 16. Last year when they tried to do a colonoscopy they couldn't finish because he started bleeding. Due to the kind of insurance my brother has he get's CRAPPY SUCKY CARE!!! it's really just pisses me off!!! Ok ok to the point, so they removed the tumor (which was cancerous) part of his muscle in his back, all of his colon except for a few inches (he doesn't have to have a colon bag forget what the technical name is). HE'S 33 did I say that, actually he turned 34 on the 9th HAPPY BIRTHDAY T. After the surgery they had to test his lymphnode to see if it reached that if it did they say "that's not good" we had received the call two weeks ago that it came back negative!!!Thank you Jesus!!! So he's home for about a week and is admitted again this time for swollen feet due to not getting enough protein. Remember no colon?? yeah that's why God put it there so that the food we eat the nutrients takes it time and get's where it needs to go. Sooo they admit him, he's still there and really wanting to go home. He's weighs all of 120 pounds and it about 5'7. So when you pray plesae pray for him that he gets the best Dr's that know what there doing and the best care while he's in the hospital. He also has seven children keep them in prayer and his wife to.

While having that on my mind I also started a part time job with state farm insurance working for a high school friend. The above really brought the importance of making sure were insured properly and that if anything were to happen to me or dh that my kids would be taken care of. I also have learned this company offers a lot of other products besides auto insurance. So if any of you two readers need a quote or help understanding your policies email me and I'll have my friend give you a call.

Just busy with my kids sports, homework and keeping up the house!!! Yeah to my 7th grader who brought home a progess report with 4 A's and 2 B's my 8th grader 3 A's 2 B's 1 C (uGH MATH)!!! My dd hasn't gotten her progress yet I go for conferance the 19.

This weekend we have three basketball games, three baseball games and I seriously wish I could scrap on the run!!!lol

Everyone is back to school,,,,,,

Ok so today all three of my chillin's (kids for those of you not hip to that word yet)LOL.. are all in schoooooooooooooool. I love them dearly but as I've said in my earlier post IT WAS TIME for them to get back to school!!! Really the last two weeks I've heard "mom i'm bored" so then mom put them to work (after about the 2nd day of them saying that to me) they clued in they better stop saying "I'm bored", but I tell ya what, it's a good way to get the house clean!!lol For all those two mom readers I have do your kids also eat constantly when there at home, swear I felt like I was in the kitchen 24/7....my boy's are growing yes I know, but daaaaaaaang they were hungry all the time. I even said how do you go what, three hours before you have lunch at school without eating?? Again this whole "bored" thing came up, thankgoodness there really active otherwise I'd have chubby lil' kids right about now.

So school went well for my 7th grader and my 5th grader they were very excited and my son the newest Jr"Higher was glad he got a few of his friends in his class's. He thinks it's very cool saying "1st period, 2nd period..lol" My daughter, well what can I say she's a girl and yes even on the first day of school girls have drama!! Oy'vey my daughter had two really BBF one just moved away to O.C. and my daughter was very sad, of course. The other friend is here and I guess my daughter wanted to make friends with two new girls but her other BFF said "I just want it to be you and I". My daughter tells me "mauuuum (yes she drags that word out) (let's call her friend E), "E doesn't want to make new friends because she likes just us two, and I told her it's fun to have more then one friend because "like" we can't play nation ball with just the two of us"

....ok I am standing in the kitchen cooking dinner trying not to laugh and get cranky...lol so I tell her, "C" you can't control what other people do, just be friendly tell your friend your making friends with the new girls too she can come if she wants. I didn't have this problem in elemenatry school I was friends with everyone, and I tell my daughter that and talk with her and teach her to be friendly and nice to all her schoolmates. Now my husband on the other hand wants to try and "fix the problem"..LOL he just scratches his head and say's "girls are so different then boy's"LOL. I mean you put a group of boy's together they play have a good time, you put a few girls together and there fussing.. ok so I'll see what happened today when she gets home. Oooo and by the way there is a group of girls four of them to be exact who are little snobby trouble makers, I know there mothers who are very nice but swear I've seen these girls in action when there mom's aren't around there "vicious" with there tongue!!!! so I've been praying all day she has a good day today....

This is my big 8th grader Jake (((((whaaaa there growing up to fast))))) Cole my 7th grader Cheyenne the 5th grader, her outfit was so cute and her shoes I want a pair!!!lol

and this pic is the only one I got of my 7th grader(going to school) mom is not allowed to get out of the car and act like the paparazzi, he's the one with the orange backpack!!!((((whaaaa there growing up to fast)))))

Cooking some yummy-ness!!!

Out of all the days for me to decide to cook as in "turning the oven on" I picked the hottest day of the summer!!LOL but the end result was soooooooo worth it. I made my friends recipe "Dawn's Eggplant Rollatini". DH loves any kind of food, he's pretty easy to cook for and eats leftovers which is a bonus, I do have friends who's dh's don't like leftover's. I mean how could that be, meatloaf so taste better the next day just like cold pizza in the morning taste better. Ok ok so back to my post..lol I did take some pictures of me preparing this dish and it turned out AWESOME (said in that Tommy Boy voice). I made a tomato/spinich/balsamic vinegar/olive oil/ pepper and salt salad to go with it.
Let me just show you the pic's ;) Here's my set up, yes I'm a bit messy when I cook.
There's the eggplant after I fried it, dip in flour, egg then flour again then into the pan.

Here's the set-up for the filling, garlic, ricotta, pecorino romano cheese, tomatoes with basil, mozzarella (i cheated it was packaged and shredded)lol

while i was mixing the above I had the spinach in boiling water,
the final result and one Happy Hungry Husband!!!

yes he's got a total goober look on his face, Dawn my Italian friend he said THANK YOU!!

Counting the days.........

Ok first I truly deeply love my husband and kids. But I need back my routine!! I can only handle about three days with dh at home all the time!! seriously he messes up my plans and housecleaning routine.

So today DH just went back to school he goes back a week before the students go to school lucky teachers. At least he went and watched his favorite baseball team New York Yankees yesterday and had one last hoo-rah before getting back in the trenches with his students (ooo he's a high school english teacher).

My kids start Sept 4 so I have two weeks. I notice as we get closer they tend to get lazier and I'm constantly reminding them, ok ok slightly raising my voice to "pick your clothes up, make your bed, stop picking on your sister, don't slam the door" when in the heck did I become my mother!!!LOL

Another thing my first day back to work started today to and I totally forgot I was getting up with DH..LOL so 5:30 this morning I started a somewhat routine ironing, making breakfast and dh's lunch.

When does mama get a vacation?

Just some random pictures..

Ok do you see that, YES IT'S A BOBCAT. I walk down three steps from my front porch and voila a table with a tired bobcat is what I saw. I told you we get critter's!!!eeeeks

Now in fourth grade we do the "California" project and my daughter picked "San Diego". This one was easier but please don't notice I forgot to put the water by Shamu, he's just jumping outta thin air basically happy this project is over!!!LOL She was very proud because to the right are 14 pictures and she was the only one that had that many, a big high five to me thank you very much!!LOL The left side was the map of san diego and a timeline which came out very cool to. lol ok ok she wrote her own paper which was five pages!!! All I can say I am glad the PROJECTS ARE OVER!!! until next year that is.....

And of course the BIG PROJECT DISPLAY BOARD, this was part of my sixth graders country report. I helped him type 18 pages for his report, can you believe that he wrote that much. The country he picked was Australia. Ok please notice my handy work,,,ok ok ok no dissing me for helping you all know you help your kids, and if you say you don't your lying!!LOL ok j/k. I handmade the flags the "aboriginal" one was easy but the Australia one was a bit more time consuming. My son drew the maps you see on the left and right and there's more on the back sides. The title was my friends idea it's the sun with the name of the country thru it, I found some boomerang stickers and used that as the border underneath and attached a souvenir koala my friend gave me a few years back when she went to australia to visit her husbands family.

Hey look it's Spartacus!!! Nahhh it's my big sixth grader son Cole isn't he cute. He new his lines and acted out being the man, how cool is that.

This is me and my daughter in Sacramento over the Sacramento River where Gold was discovered. I just love this picture.

Ok now this one, you all have to comment..LOL this is me and three of my sisters with my mom on Mother's day. We went to Victoria Gardens a new shopping center here California. I just have to mention the big boobed girl on the far left is me, LOL just kidding it's my sister she got the "job" done a few months back can ya tell she likes them!!!LOL

This was taken at Olvera street my son did his last cultural report on my grandmother's candy booth that is still there that my aunt runs.

Here's the candy booth "Lupe's candy shop"

Dont'cha just hate ordering prints!!!

Ok so tonight I go to Sam's club to order some prints, ok not just some but more like 321!!!! Is that scary or what?.......Oy' It took me 45 minutes to edit and go thru what I wanted. I even forgot what pictures I took.lol. They were mainly of mothers day, baseball games and my son Cole's Olympiad thingy he's doing for sixth grade!! Which reminds me I need to vent!!LOL There are four sixth grade class's and they all are participating in this "Olympiad" it's a two day event which the Academic part was held this past friday. This coming friday is the parade, games and feast. Well our class was nominated to be in charge of the food. Ok this school that my kids go to, you can say most of the families are well off. The thing is me and the other room mom never ever or hardly get help there are like 2 other mom's from a class of 32 that help us. Ok so were in charge of getting the food for this feast, were told to "just order from where we got it last year". Ok the thinking that some of these women on the PFA have is "we pay for it up front and they will reimburse us". Well the cost for the food so far is $661.86 to be exact and the "little peeps" that are in charge of the 6th grade funds said it will take two weeks to cut us a check and oooooo "why don't we just put it on our charge card". OK SCUUUUUUZE me, NOT!!! I know they will pay but I just thought it quite rude to just expect me or the other mom to foot the bill upfront and then have to wait two to three weeks to be reimbursed our money, I'm sorry but I don't have "just $700" laying around and I don't like putting stuff on my card like that. So when I told the "PFA president" she got all huffy and just said fine I'll do it, of course she didn't say it to my face but in a short email to me, because she knows I'd seriously have to verbally lay into her!!! UGH does anyone else out there hate the "clique's" that go on in school's and I'm not talking about the kids but the adults!!!! Man two more years and I"m done with this school!!! Jr High and High school is way easier after going to this school!!!LOL

ok end of vent!!!

Sunday, May 27, 2007

Well where have I been???

Ok so far all of the "two" readers that read my blog, SORRYYYYYYYYY. I can't believe it's been way over a month since I last blogged. BUT FIRST, DID YA NOTICE THE NEW LOOK? My very good friend "Deanna, domestchicky" made the banner and the background, and she included one of my all time favorite quotes. Does it rock or what??!!!

MUCHO GRACIA'S DEANNA!!!!

Before I go I will say this last month and a 1/2 has been absolutely crazy!!! But can I say SUMMER IS ALMOST HERE!!!! I can not wait until school is out, I HATE PROJECTS AND HOMEWORK!!!LOL Last week was a nightmare, I typed a 18 page country report for my sixth grader (yes 18 pages, sixth grade??) I made a display board for my fourth grader who did her report on "San Diego" ok not just one thing in San Diego but allllll of San Diego!!LOL Then I also did the display board for my son's country report on Australia, I have to say both came out nice!!! Anyone in need of display boards for your future 4th or 6th grader I will sell them to the highest bidder!!LOL....

So not only did I do the above but I also worked four out of five days, did I mention I am a merchandiser for Hawaiian Tropic the suntan lotion company. Of course I still did the regular stay at home mom stuff like laundry, cook and somewhat clean!!!lol

Promise next post will be with some pic's and I think I will start posting recipe's with pic's to, ;).

Until then, tell me about your week ;)

Easter and my Son's 12 birthday makes for a busy mama!!!

Yup, we had Easter and a Birthday!!! My son Cole turned 12 today!! Wow, I still can't believe my boy's are growing up ;o(. Here's some pic's of today we had a lot of fun and I had a lot of fun using my new camera....woohooo. The next picture's are him opening his "presents" if I could put audio with his reactions ooo man, I was laughing so much. He was very excited can you tell!!! They colored eggs last night, opened there Easter baskets this morning, I made them eggs, bacon and hashbrowns for breakfast. The picture of my daughter and son with the intense look on his face, they actually liked the breakfast they were just chewing when I took the picture..LOL My son wanted "chicken nuggets and "Texas Toast" for dinner, mama had to add the vegetable which he quickly noticed and said "i didn't order that"..LOL. He wanted a choclate with white frosting baseball cake. Don't laugh at the crookedness of my lines on the cake I was up until 3:00 am this morning and mama just had a little shaky hands this morning making the cake. I had bought shirts and a dress for my daughter all in the same color's my oldest didn't want to wear it but all I have to do is remind him how long I was in labor with him and he'll do anything for me..LOL...ahhhh mama pulling thee'ole guilt trip. Notice the "gloomy" weather in the background of the one pic with the kids outside. Tomorrow were off to Disneyland and California Adventure, so I'll see you peeps wednesday with my "adventure" update.
